Why Hire Our Firm
Miami Tax Law Attorney Has Experience as a CPA
The provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, the body of law that applies to the taxes levied by the United States government, is notoriously complex. Even people who work with the tax code on a daily basis often encounter difficulty in navigating the system and finding answers to pressing questions. If you have been notified that you have been selected for an audit, or even if you merely have reason to believe that you may be under investigation for tax evasion, tax fraud or some other type of tax-related legal violation, you need a Miami tax law attorney with the experience necessary to successfully guide you through this situation and fight to defend your rights. Come to the Tomas Law Firm to work with a tax lawyer who has demonstrated his ability to handle cases in this area of the law.
Our firm's founding attorney, A. Antonio Tomas, is not only a highly experienced tax law attorney but also a certified public accountant (CPA). Unlike most lawyers, Mr. Tomas has received extensive education and training in the field of tax law. He has personally worked as an accountant, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges involved in finding one's way through the complicated state and federal tax regimes. This unique background makes Attorney Tomas especially well prepared to take on even the most difficult cases. Our team has successfully represented clients against the IRS at the field and appeals level, as well as in the United States Tax Court.
Board-Certified Miami Tax Lawyer
In addition to his experience as a CPA, Attorney Tomas has also earned the considerable distinction of being board certified in tax law by the Florida Bar. Of all attorneys throughout the state who are eligible for board certification in their area of practice, only 6 percent have met the rigorous qualifications. Currently, only 247 lawyers throughout Florida have achieved the honor of board certification in tax law. An attorney who wishes to become board certified must first supply evidence that he or she has spent at least 5 years practicing primarily in a specific area of law; must pass a process of in-depth peer review; must have completed 90 hours of continuing legal education; and must have passed an examination of legal knowledge, skill and proficiency. Only board-certified lawyers are permitted to advertise themselves as being specialists or experts.
If your future is threatened by a tax-related legal issue, bring the matter to us for help from an attorney you can trust. Contact us today.
